I too was very sad when I heard Dr. Ray Hagins tell this story about who we are Spiritually and who we think we are according to this Bible. I always sincerely prayed to Our Creator, still do, to let me not worship HIM in vain because I was gifted with a discerning spirit as well as the power in my hands to touch and heal you so where does that come from? Be careful when you refer back to the Bible because you must realize we have been brain washed and our mothers and their mothers were brain washed too, to always refer back to a word given to us by people who hate us! I am not sure of your reference to Our Father excluding persons with flat noses from his presence. However, the only biblical verse that I am aware of is found in Leviticus 21: 18 (KJV).
The entire 21st chapter of Leviticus is devoted to the sons of Aaron as members of the Levite priesthood. Therefore, these standards of person appearance do not apply to tribal members in general.
Moreover, the Hebrew term (charam) translated flat refers to mutilation. To mutilate is to inflict and injury upon. As such, charam has no reference to natural features with which one may be born. Continuing a reference to precluded defects. Superfluous also references mutilations.

Am an african swahili speaker ,i have been listenning to Ray and i say his teachings are very interesting,but i have some issues in reagrds to the truth as he points out.Wheather one adopts religion as he has shown i think its not important because he admits,that this are rituals and rites that were originally african stolen from them,mutulated and then representeed again to africans with european apeal.

Hagin seems to suffer from obsessive compusive disorder, as well as narcissim, as can be clearly diagnosed from his lectures. Not someone you want be adopting doctrine from. Leave him alone. I’ve listen to several of Ray Hagin’s messages now, and have investigated what he is saying and what scripture says. I must say, he’s miss leading people with his style of teaching. For example, he’s misleading people when he says, the Bible says the whole world was covered in 15 cubits of water. That’s not what the Bible says, he’s taking words out of context, notice some other translations of the Bible and see exactly what’s there.
Also, I find it interesting, when Ray Hagin asked the lady reading the scriptures, to read another translation, to see if it says the same thing as the one he was twisting. She was unable too, even with a computer with internet access. Please read and check things out for yourself, don’t take anyone’s word. Do your own research and see if these sayings are true, this is just one of the things I’ve noticed in one message. There are other messages which need to be addressed too, remember this is a matter Truth and Salvation. If you believe Ray Hagin, you have no hope or salvation.

The Bible is a comprehensive work. I notice that you did not cite the chapter or verse that you attribute to Moses and Aaron. But I am sure that you are referring to Leviticus 21: 18. Leviticus 21: 1 tells you that these are standards intended for the priesthood, the Levites, not for the common tribesmen.
Moreover, if you will refer to my initial response to your erroneous accusation, you’ll find that flat nose is actually the opposite of what the translation originally stated.
The translators substituted flat nose for long nose (the European feature). It would be rather ludicrous to tell black men that they cannot be priests if they had flat noses.

My question is what do you think qualifies you to assert that the Bible is not a historical text. In the academic community the validity of a text is often determined by the number of times that it is reprinted. I think that puts the Bible in a category of truth all by itself.

Ray Hagins is one of these small-minded dudes that isolates Gospel passages and makes naive statements and makes it sound like he’s the only “scholar” to notice how things were worded in the Bible. Notice his tactics (in which, he doesn’t even realize he’s using lol) – he isolates Bible passages for an hour, but like most “scholars,” doesn’t use big picture thinking. Notice how he’ll mention things in the Gospels, but not, for example, mention what’s written in the Book of Revelation – duh, it ties things together. Notice how his interpretations now become skewed nonsense through his isolation techniques. Sadly, anyone with a brain can have all the degrees and religious training in the world – the thing Ray Hagins is missing, is the annointing. That’s why his congregation is being fooled by his small-minded messages. God loves all of you. Don’t be decieved by Ray’s visions of grandiosity. If you look into Ray’s upbringing as a child, people would see why he teaches in a misleading manner. Notice what he does – he takes things that are nornal – and makes them “unnormal.” – A product of his unforunate upbringing. He doesn’t know any better. So, in short, when an individual starts to “educate” himself in religious theology, it’s dangerous in cases like Ray Hagins, because he never had his early age issues properly dealt with, thus, he has a poor foundation in which to build upon his own philosophies later in life. Timothy McVeigh was like this. Although, Tim ultimately had people physically die, Ray Hagins is killing people spiritually. Pastors are supposed to be spiritual food, not people who spew ridiculous messages that fill (unbeknownst to him) are feeding a void in their lives stemming from deeper psychological issues. He’s trying to understand the mysteries of God that aren’t meant for us to know right now. So in the process, he’s feeding people nonsense, claiming “well, that’s what your Bible says.” Remember, Ray is only human, and makes mistakes too.
